*Diagnoses were based on cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens received at the national reference laboratory in N’Djamena, Chad. Vaccination with serogroup A meningococcal polysaccharide/tetanus toxoid conjugate vaccine was implemented in the N’Djamena regions in 2011 and in all other regions of Chad in 2012.
